Description: A nice antique CDV of a handsome bearded gentleman taken in the famous "Van Der Weyde Light" studio at 182 Regent St W London. Henry Van der Weyde is renowned for being the first photographer to use electric lighting. This revolutionised photography by allowing faster and more controlled lighting than was allowed by natural light. Van Der Weyde was also a founding member in 1892 of the influential "Linked Ring Brotherhood", along with Henry Peach Robinson and George Davison. Some spotting, but very nice otherwise. Blank on the reverse. Circa 1870-1890.
