Description: An interesting Carte de Visite (CDV) from the mid 1880s of a young man who has clearly styled himself in the manner of Oscar Wilde, by H. Winterhalter of 84 North Street, Leeds. Oscar Wilde visited Leeds during his lecture tours of Britain and Ireland in the 1880s as part of his broader travels to major Yorkshire towns and cities to discuss artistic and social topics. It may well be that this young 'fan' attended one of his lectures. The condition is sadly not great, as there are some surface scratches, and the card itself is a bit grubby.

This is an original antique photograph, not a reproduction.
