Description: A brilliant stereoscopic view card entitled "A Life Boat Her". The subject is likely a portrait of Henry Freeman, famously a lifeboatman for over 40 years and the sole survivor of the Whitby lifeboat disaster of 1861. Photographer unknown. A copy is held in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. Possibly Peter Henry Emerson?
