Description: A classic "book-style" double-volume storage box, designed by the famous publisher Underwood & Underwood to hold a set of 100 stereoviews. These boxes were specifically crafted to look like a set of fine leather-bound books so they could be displayed prominently on a Victorian library shelf or parlour table. The spine is labelled "EGYPT" in gold gilt, indicating it originally housed one of the firm's popular travel series.

Manufacturer: Likely Underwood & Underwood (New York/London).

Format: Faux-book "book-box" with a textured red buckram or cloth covering and gold-stamped lettering.

Dimensions: Sized to fit standard 3.5" x 7" stereoview cards.

Condition: Authentic antique condition. The exterior shows some rubbing and edge wear consistent with age. The internal hinge and lining remain functional, though there is some light staining and paper wear inside. The bottom of the box shows significant scuffing to the green surface paper.
