Carte de Visite from the "Frith's Carte Series" of Minehead Harbour, 1870

Description: Extremely rare carte de visite (CDV) in the Francis Frith "Frith's Carte Series" showing Minehead Harbour, circa 1870. Bears the authenticating stamp on the reverse, the style of which helps date the photo. No other Frith photo of the harbour is known, and there is no copy of this image in the Francis Frith archives. The photo is likely to have been taken by Francis Bedford who was one of the many photographers working for the Francis Frith company and is known to have been working in Minehead at this point. A great addition to any CDV or Francis Frith collection. Size approx 9cm x 6cm. VG condition.
