Description: An utterly fabulous photo featuring Frederik B. Watson, a "Family Grocer and Provision Dealer" with an awesome "Don't Worry" sign above his premises, and an unsurpassed window display with tins and boxes that all seem to feature military portraits and eyes! Zoom in for a closer look - it's quite bizarre! I did some digging and I think the Don't Worry sign relates to The Boer War, a kind of "Keep Calm and Carry On" slogan of its day. Frederik was born in 1866 in Barnsley. He worked as a Grocer's Apprentice in 1881 and in 1891 became a Grocer's Assistant. He married a year later in 1892, and in 1901 became a Grocer in his own right opening his own shop (pictured). I think this photo is from the opening day of that new business, and doesn't he look proud of himself!
