Description: Five-In-A-Family. The Ashworth-Shepherd Family. Five family portraits, grouped and framed together, featuring 5 family members, all appear to be Reverends. The family comes from Bamford, Lancashire. Includes The Rev Robert Shepherd, his son The Rev J.F. Shepherd, John Asworth of Rochdale, Dr Ambrose Shepherd and The Rev Frank Shepherd. John Ashworth, the central figure is remembered for his work at the Chapel of The Destitute and Ragged School in Rochdale, and as author of "Strange Tales". Robert and Ambrose were brothers and nephews of John Ashworth, whilst J.F and Frank Shepherd were sons of Robert.
