Description: "The 400 Blows" (Les 400 Coups) was Truffaut's first feature-length film, and a French New Wave classic. Released in 1959, the film is a coming of age masterpiece, a sublime, semi-autobiographical telling of Truffaut's own childhood. It tells the story of troublesome schoolboy Antoine Doinel, played by Jean-Pierre Léaud, who spends much of his time in the local cinemas of Paris. Written & Directed by Francois Truffaut and starring Jean-Pierre Léaud. The DVD features an introduction by Serge Toubiana, audio commentary by Robert Lachenay, a portriat of Truffaut, the original theatrical trailer and the bonus short film "The Brats" (Les Mistons).
