Description: An original photo on board, depicting a fantastic collection of ladies, gentlemen and children, decked out in their finest for a tea party to celebrate bringing in the hay at Sheepen Farm, Colchester. There is some water damage to the photo sadly, but still a beautiful picture and a great piece of social history.

Provenance: Found photo. Sheepen Farm is known for being the site of the discovery of Pre-Roman Britain remains in 1930. Text on the reverse reads "The Hay-party at Sheepen Farm. The home of my Great Uncle Harry Hedge, and his wife Annie. On Great Aunt Annie's lap is Hilda Peacock, whose Mother and Father, Great Aunt Mary & Great Uncle Willie are to the left of the photo (with cups in their hands). Sitting next to G-A Annie is her sister Mrs. Ives, who lived at 3 Oxford where G-Aunt Anne later lived looking after her brother-in-law who was then a widower."
