Description: An original real photo post card (RPPC) photograph depicting a gathering of warships in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. In the foreground is what looks to be a mining operation. On the reverse is a Penpol Picturecards emblem and note that the photograph is by Frank Grattan A.R.P.S. The event was described in The Times as follows: "Western Union Naval Exercises. A Western Union fleet comprising about 50 ships of the British, French and Netherlands Navies arrived in Mount's Bay, Cornwall, yesterday to take part in exercises in the Bay of Biscay, known as Operation Verity, which will begin on Monday and will last four days. Aircraft of the three Powers, with some Belgian machines, will also take part in the exercises."
Condition: Very good, slight marking to left edge.
