Rare Antique Italian RPPC of a Bardi Carnival Group (c. 1905)
£12.00
Description: A fun and historically significant Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) of a large, costumed ensemble from the town of Bardi (Parma province, Italy). The image shows an early 20th-century Italian Carnevale, featuring over 30 individuals in an eclectic mix of attire: from men in top hats and frock coats, to people in theatrical "mask" costumes and traditional floral-adorned headwear. A highlight is the "Cavallino" (Hobby Horse) figure, a staple of regional Northern Italian street performance. This is a superb acquisition for collectors of Italian heritage, folk history, or vintage masquerade photography.
Photographer: Embossed with the stamp of "Studio Fotografico, Bardi." The "undivided back" layout and the typography of the postal branding are consistent with the early 1900s.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with sharp focus and strong contrast. Some minor corner wear and light foxing consistent with age, which adds to its authentic character.
