Unusual piece of Kodak ephemera - film spool with developing instructions
£25.00
Description: A very unusual piece of Kodak ephemera. This is a 61cm x 6cm length of paper rolled onto an old wood/metal roll film spindle. The paper rolls out to reveal the instructions for how to develop your film in a Kodak developing tank. I have never encountered this item before in all my years as a photographer. A truly rare find. I've had it in my personal collection for about 20 years now, and am finally ready to part with it. It would look wonderful and very unique framed in a long narrow frame. Text starts... "This spool is wound to represent an exposed film cartridge which is to be prepared for developing in the Kodak Film Tank..." The metal ends of the cartridge bear the text "Kodak Brownie", and the spool itself refers to "Kodak Autographic" cameras, which were launched in 1914, so I think it will be from that period.
Date: c. 1914

Size (cm): 61 x 6 (wound on a 120 roll film spool)
