Vintage Sawyer’s View-Master Model C (Black Bakelite)

Vintage Sawyer’s View-Master Model C, produced in Portland, Oregon, between 1946 and 1955, from durable black Bakelite. This "second-generation" viewer is the iconic design that transitioned the View-Master from a scenic photography tool into a beloved household toy. Features the classic "square" lens housing and the sturdy metal advance lever. This model was the first to feature the slot for the now-standard 7-scene reels.

Condition: Bakelite housing is in good condition with a nice lustre. There are no major cracks or chips visible in the casing. The metal advance lever is intact and functional. The two metal rivets on the bottom show some age-related oxidation/rusting. The glass viewing lenses are present and appear clear, but may benefit from a light internal dusting, common with items of this age. The bottom clearly displays the "Sawyer's View-Master" logo and patent information.

The Model C is widely considered the most "rugged" and reliable viewer Sawyer's ever produced.
