Description: An original 19th-century stereoview of La Colonne du Congrès (Congress Column) in Brussels, Belgium. Topped with a statue of King Leopold I, the monument was erected between 1850 and 1859 to commemorate the formation of the Belgian state and constitution following the 1830 Revolution.

The image provides a clear view of the column's intricate pedestal, which features allegorical statues representing the four fundamental freedoms of the new nation: freedom of religion, association, education, and the press.

Condition: Authentic antique condition. The images show significant fading/lightness, particularly in the sky area. The mount shows light corner wear and minor surface marks. The reverse of the card is a plain grey-blue cardstock with some light foxing and handling marks.
